Candle Care

We’ve put together the below tips on how to care for your candles to ensure you get the most out of them. If you have any questions, please get in touch and we would be more than happy to help.

The first time you light your wellbeing candle, ensure you allow it to burn for 2-4 hours so that your candle has a full to near full melt pool across the top. We strongly advise not to burn over 4 hours. Burning candles over a longer period of time can cause a larger flame and an overheated jar.

Once you are nearing the end of your candle, please ensure you leave at least 1cm of wax at the bottom to avoid flames burning against the glass and overheating.

Always trim the wick before lighting to remove the burnt wood. We recommend you trim it to 3mm. This can be done by simply pinching the burnt wood with your fingers to snap it, or with wick trimmers or small scissors. We recommend that the wick is trimmed straight to ensure a controlled and consistent flame across the wick. If you do use wick trimmers please be sure not to cut the wick too short (see our next point!).

If you find the flame is having a dance around and is larger than usual, simply blow out the candle, trim the wick shorter and relight.

We only use 100% natural ingredients in our candles and therefore you may notice some discoloration or changes to the texture of the wax. This does not affect the performance of your candle.

Gently blow your candle out to avoid wax spill or even better, use a candle snuffer.

Always abide by the general candle safety guidelines when burning candles and never leave candles unattended, around children, pets or burning whilst you are out of the house. For any questions on candle safety, please get in touch!
